  • I work on a freelance basis and can be hired for long-term retainer contracts, one-off projects or hourly rates.

    Yes! I do subcontract to awesome agencies and will happily work alongside your other agencies and contractors to get the best results.

  • Most jobs are done on a project rate – this is decided based on the size of the project, hours required, the value of the project and its urgency. We’ll agree on the cost upfront and I won’t go over that amount.

    If I foresee some serious project creep (hey, it happens), I’ll squeal before it happens and we can have a conversation about how best to proceed.

    My hourly rate is NZD135 +GST.

    One-off consultations are NZD250 +GST and include a report and a 45-minute online chat.

  • Depending on the size of the project, I usually need at least two weeks’ notice. Turnaround times depend on how quickly you can get feedback to me. Usually, I only assist regular clients with last-minute projects, but I love to help – so do send me a message if you’re stuck.

  • No problem. Send me a message with a brief outline of your project and I’ll get back to you. For larger projects, I’ll send you a briefing document, which we can fill in together.

Kia ora! I’m a writer and content strategist based in New Zealand.

Words are meant to go together, Virginia Woolf once said. Well, I’ve got some damn good glue and I’ve been sticking words together for a long time.

I was first published when I was just nine years old – it was a derogatory poem about a teacher I didn’t like (he had bullied my dyslexic brother, a poem seemed like suitable revenge). I’ve grown up a bit since then, expanding my work into quirky, entertaining and creative writing for readers and businesses.

After spending a number of years studying and being in and out of the communications industry, I quit my agency job and became a full-time freelance writer and communications specialist in 2015.

Since then, I’ve:

  • Launched festivals and products with clever copywriting, SEO content and communications

  • Created content strategy and managed content for print magazines, apps and large-scale websites

  • Worked alongside designers to develop great information architecture, plan email journeys and delve into the world of user-driven writing

  • Joined forces with corporate marketing teams at some of the world’s biggest companies to convert thousands of readers into buyers, and hundreds of clicks into millions of dollars.

For me, all forms of writing come down to one basic principle: words are meant to be together and writing is content to be read.

This mantra is behind all of my work. I glue together succinct, powerful sentences that have an impact. Words that inform, make you think, make you laugh, help you get found online, help you make that buying decision…
